External Microphone plugged into pink mic jack is not detected. Do you know how to fix this?

An external microphone plugged into the pink mic jack does not work. It shows up on alsamixer as Rear Mic. On Pulse Audio the recording source is Built-in Audio Analog Stereo. Using Ubuntu 20.04. My sound card is HDA Intel PCH with a Realtek ALC892 chip. The motherboard is Cybernet Manufactering Inc. iOne-S20 with chipset: Intel Sunrise Point LPC.

I have tried various suggestions from several websites to no avail. I have purged and reinstalled pulse audio and alsa. Ouput from pactl list sources:
